The Chairman, Eric Strange, addressing the invited guests from the balcony, thanked everyone for their support of the Club and contributions which made the rebuilding work possible.
The champagne flowed as members and invited guests arrived for the official opening of the new Village Club. The Chairman, Eric Strange, gave a briefing on the progress of the building work from the inception of the new club to completion.
The President, David Rolfe, invited each member of the project team in turn to ‘screw’ the brass plaque to the building and then put the final screw in himself to finish the job.
David followed in his own inimitable fashion with a presentation and thank you to the Project Manager, Allen Palmer, Treasurer, Paul Gibson, and Mike Bacon, Chairman of the Cricket Club for all their hard work and dedication over the past year.
